KATY STEELE ANNOUNCES NEW SOLO SHOWS!KATY STEELE has announced she will head home for the first time since moving to her newly adopted city of New York for a few intimate performances throughout May & June. This special trek home will see the 26 year old singer/songwriter from Little Birdy alone on stage but armed with her guitar, keys, poignant lyrics and that unmistakable voice. Katy has crafted an extraordinary show not to be missed.
"Playing solo is very liberating and very, very different. It's like another world…" Katy said. "I'm very excited for the chance to play my brand new songs for the first time in front of a home crowd…and of course a couple of old favourites too."
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Thursday 22nd April. Tickets are limited so get in quick to avoid disappointment. (*Artbar show on sale now).
After relocating to New York to write her first solo album, the news of Katy's return bookends an exceptional twelve months. After the release of Little Birdy's highly acclaimed gold selling, ARIA nominated album CONFETTI, a string of national sold out tours with the band followed. Katy found time to play her own sold out show at the famous Spiegeltent and was then invited to join some of Australia's best artists to take part in Before Too Long – triple j's tribute to Paul Kelly before setting sail bound for New York.
Katy commented, "Living in New York is quite the experience, it's like nothing I've ever known and I've never felt so challenged, pressured, pushed and alive before. It's exactly what I wanted".
